Huntley History

Huntley & Huntley Inc., is a privately held, Pennsylvania based corporation under its fourth generation of ownership. It was founded in 1912 under the name of Johnson and Huntley for the purpose of conducting geologic and engineering consulting for the oil and natural gas industry. In 1922 the Firm changed its name to Huntley & Huntley, Inc. and continued to perform reserve studies, reserve appraisals, project risk analysis & feasibility studies for both privately held and publicly held institutions as well as for financial houses and high net worth individuals. It also project managed, designed and constructed many exploration and production, oil and gas fields throughout North America. In addition to North America, consulting took place in China, Dominican Republic and much of South America. Huntley's most famous client was M.L Benedum, and the Company has also advised many prominent individuals and entities in the energy business and its associated banking and financial institutions. In 1995 Huntley & Huntley changed its business direction from consulting to an oil and gas exploration and production company to procure reserves for its own account. Being based in greater Pittsburgh, Allegheny County for nearly 100 years, Huntley continues to be successful at developing reserves in an area that others had overlooked due to demographic challenges. As such Huntley has over 350 gas wells in greater Pittsburgh and is known as Western Pennsylvania's premier Urban developer of natural gas. Huntley & Huntley, Inc. have interests in nearly 600 oil and natural gas wells.
